Exactly 8 months since C was placed in our arms forever
A's and M's 7th (yes, count it! crazy, huh?) wedding anniversary!
But most importantly, it is C's Finalization Day to make him LEGALLY ours! =)
We are totally excited as our county court allowed us to choose our day to finalize and A and I thought since the day was so special for us 7 years ago, it would be a great day for our little family this year! This part of our adoption process has by far been the EASIEST and I just couldn't be any happier...
Thought I'd share that great news with all of you- please keep us in your prayers that nothing happens to the Judge or his /her schedule as we can't wait to get this day before us...
~M~
Oh and here is that video I keep talking about- the one where C dances to techno music! It's fitting that it's in this post as it is super cute, makes us happy, and it's a little funny too...

First trip to...
...the ER happened this past weekend! Everything is fine, but we just had to be safe!
So, here's the backstory of what happened. I had a bridal shower on saturday (for C's Godmother) that I found out was going to be sorta dressy- well I don't own many dresses and thought "well, better go look for something." This was all friday night, by the way... SO, we got in the car, drove to Dressbarn and started looking around. C was hyper and to try to "corral" him, daddy put him on his shoulders. *Sigh* Well, when C is on A's shoulders, C does this thing where he likes to grab onto A's head and lean back. I have always hated this, as I just knew it was going to lead to disaster at some point... Well, friday night was the point of disaster! C leaned back while "grabbing" daddy's head- but instead he grabbed daddy's hat, pulled the hat off with his weight and went tumbling off A's 6'1" frame!!! C fell HEAD first onto the Dressbarn's hardwood walkway and scrapped his forhead on the clothing racks on his way down!!! It was the WORST thing to observe, as I saw it all happening once he was 1/2 way to the ground and it seemed like it took forever for C to hit the floor, but I couldn't get there in time. Biggest SMACK you have ever heard and everyone, and I do mean EVERY ONE, in the store came running to see what happened. Poor C- he is just screaming in my arms, shaking and is as pale as can be- we're talking NO COLOR in his cheeks oR LIPS even. So, needless to say, I knew we needed to go to the ER as a 17 month old shouldn't hit his head like that- not to mention look what happened to Natasha Richardson last week!?!
We rushed to the ER, got to the ER and I wanted to die because I have NEVER seen an ER that full of people and I truly thought we'd be there for hours... BUT praise God we weren't! We were actually in and out in less than a 1/2 hour because C is a baby and it was a possible head injury. All this time C still didn't have color, was shaky/shaking, and was whimpering. This mama, was going a little crazy inside but I did good and I didn't show it! However, once we got into the triage room with the doctor and 2 nurses, C started showing off and dancing and climbing, etc! The doctor, who was so nice by the way, just laughed and told us she thought C was just fine... PHEW!!!!! He did have a humongous egg sized lump on his head- but that was it! So, we got to fill out some paperwork and go home...
Moral of the story- don't let your 17 month old baby have fun on your hubby's shoulders! ;-) Poor A- he was so upset and felt so badly, but like I reminded him- this won't be the last time our dare-devil child visits the ER... :-)

OH and I got a "get out of jail free card" with wearing a dress the next day...hehe!

Wanna laugh?!?!?!
So, I don't generally find many email forwards so funny that I have to share them... but this one was so darn funny that I just couldn't resist posting it. So ENJOY :-)
ONLY A MAN WOULD ATTEMPT THIS
Just try reading this without laughing till you cry!!! Pocket Tazer Stun Gun, a great gift for the wife.
A guy who purchased his lovely wife a pocket Tazer for their anniversary submitted this: Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. The occasion was our 15th anniversary and I was looking for a little something extra for my wife Julie. What I came across was a 100,000-volt, pocket/purse- sized tazer. The effects of the tazer were supposed to be short lived, with no long-term adverse affect on your assailant, allowing her adequate time to retreat to safety....?? WAY TOO COOL! Long story short, I bought the device and brought it home. I loaded two AAA batteries in the darn thing and pushed the button. Nothing! I was disappointed. I learned, however, that if I pushed the button and pressed it against a metal surface at the same time; I'd get the blue arc of electricity darting back and forth between the prongs. AWESOME!!! Unfortunately, I have yet to explain to Julie what that burn spot is on the face of her microwave. Okay, so I was home alone with this new toy, thinking to myself that it couldn't be all that bad with only two triple-A batteries, right? There I sat in my recliner, my cat Gracie looking on intently (trusting little soul) while I was reading the directions and thinking that I really needed to try this thing ou t on a flesh & blood moving target. I must admit I thought about zapping Gracie (for a fraction of a second) and thought better of it. She is such a sweet cat. But, if I was going to give this thing to my wife to protect herself against a mugger, I did want some assurance that it would work as advertised. Am I wrong? So, there I sat in a pair of shorts and a tank top with my reading glasses perched delicately y on the bridge of my nose, directions in one hand, and tazer in another. The directions said that a one-second burst would shock and disorient your assailant; a two-second burst was supposed to cause muscle spasms and a major loss of bodily control; a three-second burst would purportedly make your assailant flop on the ground like a fish out of water.. Any burst longer than three seconds would be wasting the batteries. All the while I'm looking at this little device measuring about 5" long, less than 3/4 inch in circumference; pretty cute really and (loaded with two itsy, bitsy triple-A batteries) thinking to myself, 'no possible way!' What happened next is almost beyond description, but I'll do my best.. .? I'm sitting there alone, Gracie looking on with her head cocked to one side as to say, 'don't do it dipshit,' reasoning that a one second burst from such a tiny little ole thing couldn't hurt all that bad. I decided to give myself a one second burst just for heck of it. I touched the prongs to my naked thigh, pushed the button, and . . HOLY MOTHER OF GOD . .. WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION .. . . WHAT THE HELL!!! I'm pretty sure Jessie Ventura ran in through the side door, picked me up in the recliner, then body slammed us both on the carpet, over and over and over again. I vaguely recall waking up on my side in the fetal position, with tears in my eyes, body soaking wet, both nipples on fire, testicles nowhere to be found, with my left arm tucked under my body in the oddest position, and tingling in my legs? The cat was making me owing sounds I had never heard before, clinging to a picture frame hanging above the fireplace, obviously in an attempt to avoid getting slammed by my body flopping all over the living room. Note: If you ever feel compelled to 'mug' yourself with a tazer, one note of caution: there is no such thing as a one second burst when you zap yourself! You will not let go of that thing until it is dislodged from your hand by a violent thrashing about on the floor.. A three second burst would be considered conservative? IT HURT LIKE HELL!!! A minute or so later (I can't be sure, as time was a relative thing at that point), I collected my wits (what little I had left), sat up and surveyed the landscape. My bent reading glasses were on the mantel of the fireplace. The recliner was upside down and about 8 feet or so from where it originally was. My triceps, right thigh and both nipples were still twitching. My face felt like it had been shot up with Novocain, and my bottom lip weighed 88 lbs. I had no control over the drooling. Apparently I pooped on myself, but was too numb to know for sure and my sense of smell was gone. I saw a faint smoke cloud above my head which I believe came from my hair. I'm still looking for my nuts and I'm offering a significant reward for their safe return! P.s... My wife, can't stop laughing about my experience, loved the gift, and now regularly threatens me with it! If you think education is difficult, try being stupid !!!

Woohoo! Finalization here we come...
We got our Finalization paperwork from our GREAT agency today (C isn't officially ours until we finalize with the Merced County Courts)! It is one of the last big steps in C's adoption process... I get to call Merced County in 2 weeks to set up a court date and I am so excited for this!!! (Finalizing also means we can start thinking about adoption #2- not that it isn't a long way off or anything- it just means we can officially think about it!) ;-)
Please pray that Merced County has a court date in the NEAR future for us... I would hate to be waiting around for months for this step...
Love you guys,
~M~

Pictures of Booger!
Hi guys,

Just wanted to quickly share some cute pics of C that I took this weekend and update you to say THANK YOU for all your prayers. My family is definitly feeling uplifted and very loved! Please continue the prayers as my parents really need them!
On to the pics!
This is Booger's newest Funny Face... he does it randomly and I was lucky enough to catch it on the camera because I personally think it is HILARIOUS!

The serious face that always comes out when the camera comes out:
Hmmmm... Maybe I'll think about smiling now???
Finally! C's acting a little silly for the camera! I really like this shot, the picture was actually taken upside down but I think it looks better this way... C was playing Peek-A-Boo with Mama!
I'll try to get another post on here this week with Video of C dancing around to techno music...hehe. We think it's cute and want to share- I just haven't had the chance to get the video on the computer yet...
Love you all,
~M~
