So, as you all know by now, yesterday I had a bad day... (if you missed that just read the post below this one). However, I could feel all of your prayers yesterday afternoon and even today... I'm still struggling with the extended wait to finally hold KatieJoy but I am definitely stronger with all your prayers. Anyhow, I wanted to share some "words" with you today that have really lifted me up in the recent days and months.
Yesterday, after a good long cry, I was driving in my car listening to K-Love and Casting Crown's Song- Praise YOU in this Storm came on... I've heard this song a million times and have always loved it, but for some reason yesterday the words were literally how I was feeling! It hit home and of course I knew Christ was whispering to my heart that it was okay that I had been upset and sad, but that of course I still needed to trust in Him. I DO trust in Christ. I know that ultimately HIS timing is the best for when KatieJoy comes home- how am I to ever question God when I have Him to Thank for EVERYTHING in my life?!? We all go through storms in life that aren't easy to deal with and it's important to remember that Christ is with us through all of these storms... and even though I'm sad or frustrated I still PRAISE Christ for my life and what He gives me daily!

Praise You In This Storm lyrics
(Click on the title to hear the song)
I was sure by now
That You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say "Amen", and it's still raining
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry
You raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can't find You
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away
I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth

Then today, on my way home I popped in a CD that I love but haven't listened to in a while- Francesca Battistelli's My Paper Heart. LOVE this cd! Anyway, when we first got KatieJoy's referral it was a shock to our system... we really hadn't planned on having another child so soon. When we were deciding what to do about KatieJoy's file, I had the song below on in the car... This song changed my life because it reminded me that Christ knows best regardless of what I can ever think I have planned for my life and it made me realize that God did have KatieJoy totally planned for our family! Again, today, this song came on and it reminded me that I of course can't plan out KatieJoy's homecoming because I DO NOT have Christ figured out... And thank you LORD for that- because this world would be in trouble if I were in charge!!! :)

Francesca Battistelli - Unpredictable
(Click on title to hear the song)
Got my thoughts
I got my words
Got this head full of answers
Got You wrapped up
Got You under control
See my future like the past behind me
I think I know where You’re leading
Don’t need no questions
Don’t need no rocking the boat
But I just forget all the mystery
I just forget who You are
(Chorus)
When I know that I know
What You have down the road
When I’m sure that
I’ve figured You out
Help me see that I’m small
That I can’t know it all
‘Cause You’re so unpredictable
‘Cause You’re so unpredictable
You said the foolish
Would shame the wise
To put my faith
In what’s beyond my eyes
And to believe You
I have to come as a child
So help me to rest in the mystery
Of what I can’t understand
(Chorus)
Can’t wrap my mind around You
Can’t put You in a box
Can’t keep You safely contained
You’re gonna move the way
You wanna move today
Just let me follow along
(Chorus)

So, while yes, I am still totally struggling and tired and frustrated with the wait for KatieJoy to be ready to come home to us, I am content in the Lord and know that HE really does have everything planned out in the best possible way for our family! Thank you so much for your continued prayers and please continue praying that we will be united with our sweet girl soon to become a family of 4- finally! :)
Love you all,
Mandy
